Anthony Anderson & Wife Alvina Close To Finalizing Divorce, Actor Hands Over Financial Documents

The end is near for Anthony Anderson and his estranged wife Alvina Stewart Anderson of 23 years.

 The Black-ish star has reportedly handed over his financial documents to his soon-to-be ex-wife Alvina Stewart Anderson. It is one of the last steps toward finalizing their divorce.

According to court documents, Anthony Anderson told the courts that he had turned in his entire asset list, including his income and expenses. His lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed the documents in the Los Angeles Superior Court on September 21. 

Laura Wasser represented SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian in her divorce from Kanye “Ye” West. Actress Tia Mowry recently retained her. 

Alvina Stewart Anderson secretly filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences. This reportedly blindsided Anthony, 52, who was spotted in a celebratory mood at a Pre-Oscar party just a few hours before Alvina made her move. In addition to spousal support, she requests that the former Law and Order star pay her attorney fees, according to court documents. The mother of two also asked the court to block Anthony Anderson from receiving any support from her.

In June, Anthony reportedly agreed to pay Alvina spousal support and cosign a 12-month residential lease for her, which provided the actor’s ex with a place to stay during proceedings. This is the second time that Alvina has filed for divorce. In 2015, she proceeded to split from the Primetime Emmy nominee but later withdrew the petition. However, it looks like this time, the two will divorce.

According to reports, the couple met while attending Howard State University in 1989. Alvina has seemingly been by his side throughout the course of the actor’s 20-plus-year career. He is reportedly worth $23 million.  Anthony and Alvina share two adult children, Kyra, 26, and Nathan, 22.
