TV Personality Karamo Brown Talks About His Child’s Overdose For The First Time: I Was About To Lose My Son
TV personality Karamo Brown is getting candid about a frightening incident involving his son.
In a clip from Thursday’s episode (Oct. 27) of Karamo, the host revealed he found his son Jason overdosing two years ago. Karamo Brown, 41, told the audience,
“Today, I’m going to be very vulnerable with you all. It’s something that I’ve never talked about publicly.”
Getting emotional, Brown continued,
“Almost two years ago, I found my oldest son Jason, lying on the floor, dying from a drug overdose. And I was terrified. I was about to lose my son. I didn’t know what to do. I was in shock.”

Karamo then turned to the cameras and said,
“For anybody else who’s out there that’s going through this stuff, there are people out there that want to help you.”
Before the clip wrapped, the reality tv star invited his son Jason, 25, to sit with him and asked,
“What do you remember about that day?”
During the episode, Jason revealed how terrifying that day was for him and shared where he currently stands with his addiction problem.
Karamo Brown is an American television host, reality television personality, author, actor, and activist who began his career in 2004 on the MTV reality show The Real World: Philadelphia, becoming the first openly gay black man cast on a reality show. He also stars as the culture expert in the Netflix series Queer Eye.
