Kid Rock Calls Oprah Winfrey A ‘Fraud’ After She Endorses Dr. Oz’s Opponent, John Fetterman, In Pennsylvania Senate Race
Kid Rock was expecting a little more loyalty out of Oprah Winfrey amid her recent political endorsement.
On Saturday (Nov. 5) Multiplatinum singer Kid Rock took to Twitter to call out Oprah Winfrey after the television icon endorsed the Pennsylvania Senate campaign of Democrat John Fetterman over Dr. Mehmet Oz, his republican opponent who Winfrey has previously worked with for decades.
Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, wrote:
“Oprah helped Dr. Oz with his career.”
The 51-year-old added in the post that was retweeted over 10,000 times:
“I assume because she vetted him and found him to be a wonderful person. Now she is against him. Oprah is a fraud. -Kid Rock.”
On Thursday (Nov. 3), Winfrey, a reported Democrat, announced that she will be supporting Fetterman’s Senate campaign, despite having a relationship with his opponent. As you may recall, Dr. Oz previously appeared as a health expert on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” multiple times before his own talk show aired in 2009. In addition, Winfrey’s production company Harpo produced Dr. Oz’s show while it was on the air from 2009 until 2021.
However, “The Color Purple” producer said during a virtual conversation with community leaders:
“I’ll tell you all this, if I lived in Pennsylvania, I would have already cast my vote for John Fetterman for many reasons.”

Winfrey’s endorsement for the Democrat over Dr. Oz “spoke volumes,” according to Fetterman’s campaign. The campaign shared:
“Oprah is widely regarded as the person who helped launch Dr. Oz’s career, and knows him well.”
This isn’t Kid Rock’s first time criticizing Winfrey publicly. In the past, the songwriter went on an on-stage rant at his bar in downtown Nashville screaming to the crowd “f*ck Oprah Winfrey” and “f*** Joy Behar.”
Taking accountability for his opinion, in an interview the Michigan native admitted:
“A drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts, I own what I said.”
