Casey Anthony Blames Her Father For 2008 Disappearance & Death Of Her Two-Year-Old Daughter Caylee
It’s been nearly 15 years since Casey Anthony started making headlines for her alleged involvement in her daughter’s death, and she’s finally speaking out.
Caylee, then two years old, was last seen on June 16, 2008. Her remains were discovered in a forested location not far from the family home six months after she vanished.
During a recent interview for Peacock‘s Where The Truth Lies, Casey Anthony accused her father, George Anthony, of killing her daughter and subsequently lying about what happened. According to her, he killed Caylee and then staged a cover-up in which he made his own daughter look guilty.
Casey Anthony said,
“I wasn’t feeling that great, and I wanted to lay down. I had her lay in bed with me.
“I was awoken by [my father] shaking me and asking me where Caylee was. That didn’t make sense. She would never even leave my room without telling me. I immediately started looking around the house. I go outside and I’m looking to see where she could be.”
Anthony claimed that she then noticed George Anthony holding her daughter.
“[My father] was standing there with her. She was soaking wet. He handed her to me. Said it was my fault. That I caused it. But he didn’t rush to call 911 and he wasn’t trying to resuscitate her. I collapsed with her in my arms. She was heavy, and she was cold. He takes her from me and he immediately softens his tone and says ‘It’s going to be ok.’ I wanted to believe him. He took her from me and he went away.”
She was questioned about whether or not she thought Caylee drowned in the above-ground pool, which is what her defense team claimed happened during the infamous 2011 trial. Anthony said she didn’t believe that, pointing out that there was no ladder — unless her father placed the young girl in the pool to hide what he had done.

Following Caylee’s bizarre disappearance, Anthony claimed she went to stay with her ex-boyfriend Tony Lazzaro but kept quiet about what had transpired. According to Anthony, she did not believe her daughter was dead.
“During the 31 days, I genuinely believed that Caylee was still alive. My father kept telling me she was ok. I had to keep following his instructions. He told me what to do. I tried to act as normal as I could.”
Anthony was ultimately charged with murdering her daughter. She was acquitted on July 5, 2011, but served prison time for four counts of giving false information to the police.
During the interview, Anthony also claimed that her father used to sexually abuse her and suffocate her with a pillow when she was younger, rendering her “limp and lifeless.” She added that he possibly moved on to abuse Caylee.
