Cardi B Is ‘Hopeless’ Trying To Make Offset ‘Happy’ Following Takeoff’s Death: Our Hearts Have Been So Heavy
Cardi B is getting candid about how difficult the grieving process has been for both herself and her husband Offset, in the weeks following Takeoff’s death.
Cardi B recently spoke out about the tough time she and Offset are having and admitted to feeling “hopeless” while trying to make her husband happy.
She explained,
“We’re living our life normally, but deep down inside our hearts have been so heavy. I feel like if I talk about – the internet’s so desensitized – how we really feel, what motherf–kers really been going through, y’all would start saying, ‘Oh sympathy.’”
The ‘Ring’ rapper continued,
“We don’t want no sympathy. We ain’t no charity case, but no lie, I have been feeling so hopeless trying to make my husband happy, Trying to make him crack a smile.”

Cardi B said seeing Offset “randomly cry” has broken her heart. She acknowledged that since it’s been a few weeks since Takeoff’s tragic shooting, people are starting to feel more “comfortable trying to be funny.”

As previously reported, Takeoff, one-third of the Migos rap group, was reportedly shot in the head and torso outside of a bowling alley in Houston on Tuesday (Nov. 1). The 28-year-old, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the shooting, a video surfaced of Quavo, Takeoff’s uncle and Migos group member, in a heated argument, which seemingly started over a basketball debate. Some speculate the dispute is what cause the shooting.

In the days following the late rapper’s star-studded memorial service, Offset broke his silence on the death of his cousin/Migos groupmate Takeoff.
On Nov.15, Offset (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus) took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt message and tribute to Takeoff. In part, he wrote,
“Dear Take, The pain you have left me with is unbearable. My heart is shattered and I have so many things to say, but I can’t find the words. I’ve been going to sleep and waking up hoping that all of this is a dream, but it’s reality, and reality feels like a nightmare.”
Offset told fans that he wishes he could hug, laugh, smoke, and perform with Takeoff “one last time.”
He continued,
“I know someone with a soul like yours is in heaven now. I hope you can see how much we love you and miss you. You have left a hole in my heart that will never be filled.”

Offset concluded his post by asking for “strength” and telling his late cousin,
“I love you forever.”
