As previously reported, Kirshnik Khari ‘Takeoff‘ Ball was shot outside of a Houston bowling alley on the first of last month. Through investigation, police reportedly found video evidence, license plate information, and fingerprints found from a wine bottle that matched ballistic evidence, tying Clark to fatal weapon.
Police say they found the suspected triggerman in a neighborhood of mostly single-family homes, adding that the arrest was “peaceful”. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner stated about the arrest:
“We’re going to come and get you, and we come and get you professionally, but we come in force with everything that we have, and he gave up,”
The investigation also confirmed speculations that the shooting stemmed from a lucrative dice game. Reportedly, a heated argument from the game carried on outside of the bowling alley before shots rang off. Police state there were about 30 people around at the time, all who left the scene before authorities arrived.
Homicide Division Sgt. Michael Burrow made it clear that Takeoff, however, was not involved in the dice game nor the argument. Explaining how the event unfolded, he stated:
“There was a lucrative dice game that went on at the event. There was an argument that happened afterwards outside the bowling alley, which led to the shooting…I can tell you that Takeoff was not involved in playing in the dice game, he was not involved in the argument that happened outside. He was not armed.”
Authorities attribute Takeoff’s death to simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Reportedly, Clark has been reluctant to give any information about the shooting. It is unclear to police at this time if he knew the rap star personally, however, it seems he made arrangements to leave the country right after the murder took place.
Police state that 2 days after Takeoff’s passing, Clark applied for and received an expedited passport after showing proof of an upcoming trip to Mexico. Additionally, the alleged shooter reportedly had a large sum of cash on him. Prosecutors argued that Clark is a flight risk and bail was set at $2 million.
At this time, police state they are still investigating details surrounding the shooting. Joshua ‘Lil Cam 5th‘ Cameron, 22, was arrested in connection to the murder on the November 22nd. Cameron was charged with felon in possession if a weapon, but is not suspected as a shooter. Police are actively looking for witnesses to give statements about the shooting.
