Lady Gaga — Man Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison After Stealing Singer’s Pets & Shooting Dog Walker
Justice is being served for Lady Gaga and her dog family.
New reports reveal that James Howard Jackson, one of the individuals who participated in the robbery of Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs, took a plea deal on Monday (Dec. 5) and will be spending 21 years in prison. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, James Jackson pleaded no contest to one count of attempted murder.
As previously reported, the pop star’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was walking three of her French bulldogs, Asia, Koji, and Gustav, on February 24, 2021, when a van pulled up alongside Fischer. The robbers stole two of the bulldogs and shot him in the chest as he tried to fight them off, causing Fischer to lose part of his lung.
A nearby doorbell camera recorded the 41-year-old screaming:
“Oh, my God! I´ve been shot!”
As well as:
“Help me! I’m bleeding out from my chest!”
Two days later, Lady Gaga’s dogs were returned by a woman who alleged she found them tied to a pole. She asked about the musician’s offer of a $500,000 reward if her dogs were returned with “no questions asked.” However, the singer was filming a movie in Rome at the time. The woman was charged with receiving stolen property and the father of one of the suspects is charged with helping him avoid arrest.
Law enforcement shares that the 36-year-old, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, connection to the incident was a coincidence and not because of her celebrity status. The motive was allegedly the value of the French bulldogs, being that a breed that can cost thousands of dollars. Detectives denied that the thieves knew the dogs belonged to the singer. In a statement the office said:
“The plea agreement holds Mr. Jackson accountable for perpetrating a coldhearted violent act and provides justice for our victim.”
