Nipsey Hussle’s Estate Allegedly In Violation of Contract w/ Songwriter Over Unpaid Royalties From ‘Hussle & Motivate’

Nipsey Hussle — Late Rapper’s Estate Allegedly In Violation of Contract w/ Songwriter Over Unpaid Royalties From ‘Hussle & Motivate’
The family of Nipsey Hussle has found themselves at the center of yet another legal battle.
Songwriter Tasleema Yasin has requested that the probate lawsuit for Nipsey Hussle not be dismissed, RadarOnline reports.
The musician claimed to have collaborated with the deceased rapper and asserts that Sam Asghedom, the rapper’s brother, has “not fully honored” his pledge to reimburse her for any money owed. Following Nipsey Hussle’s murder, Sam Asghedom was named administrator of the entertainer’s estate, placing him in charge of handling all debts and collecting all money.

Tasleema Yasin filed a lawsuit against Nipsey’s estate in 2019, asserting that she was entitled to a share of the revenue from his song, “Hussle & Motivate.” She claimed to have written and performed on the 2016 single.
According to Tasleema Yasin, she performed the
“ascending four-note vocal phrase featured throughout the song’s runtime, as well as a countermelody in my higher register featured prominently during the song’s chorus.”
She identified herself as a creditor who collaborated with Nipsey on projects
“for which he intended to pay her but never had the chance to while alive and which after her passed his Estate administrators have not fully honored to date despite promises to do so and Yasin good faith belief and acceptance of their promises to do so.”
Yasin announced in March that she was dropping the lawsuit against the estate. However, the music artist claimed in recently filed court documents that the estate had broken its promises and, to date, is in violation of its contract and agreements.
Sam Asghedom recently informed the court that all creditor claims, including Yasin’s, had been settled.
Yasin has requested that the judge delay ruling on the case’s resolution until she has received full payment.
Nipsey, who was dating actress Lauren London, was shot to death outside his Los Angeles clothing store on March 31, 2019. The couple shared a son named Kross, along with Lauren London’s elder child with rapper Lil Wayne and Nipsey’s daughter Emani, who is presently the subject of a custody dispute between his family and her biological mother.
