Tory Lanez Hit w/ Third Felony Charge In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case
Tory Lanez has been hit with a third felony charge just as the trial is set to begin for his Megan Thee Stallion shooting case.
According to reports, prosecutors added the new charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence on Monday (December 5). The charge comes as rapper Tory Lanez awaits opening statements in his trial over claims he shot fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in her feet more than two years ago.
As you may recall, musical artist Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, is reportedly accused of firing a gun in the direction of Megan Thee Stallion, real name Megan Pete, in the Hollywood Hills at about 4:30 a.m. on July 12, 2020.
In addition to the new charge, Tory, 30, is also facing two charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle for allegedly shooting Megan, 27.
As previously reported, as the trial between the entertainers kicked off, Tory shared with the court judge his list of potential defense witnesses.
Reportedly, Tory is planning to call reality star Kylie Jenner, 25, and her mother’s boyfriend Corey Gamble, 42, to the witness stand. Tory’s legal team stated that the night in question stemmed from an argument that started at Kylie Jenner’s pool party in L.A., where Corey Gamble was also in attendance.
According to reports, opening statements for the trial are set for December 12th.
