Nia Long Criticizes Boston Celtics’ Handling Of Cheating Scandal Involving Ex-Fiancé Ime Udoka: It Feels Like No One Thought Of Me, Of My Children
Nia Long disapproves of the way the Boston Celtics handled the cheating scandal involving her now-ex-fiancé Ime Udoka.
During an interview on the red carpet at Peacock’s The Best Man: The Final Chapters premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday (Dec. 7), the actress expressed her displeasure with how Ime Udoka‘s former team disclosed the details of his affair to a subordinate.
Nia Long said,
“It feels like no one thought of me, of my children. There was no protection.”
She continued,
“I think the Celtics were irresponsible, and it was hurtful. It really was, because we were welcomed in as family, and then it’s like, ‘Well, what happened?’ But I’m figuring it out.”
Nia Long also criticized the Celtics in a different interview earlier this month. She said, at the time, that it was frustrating that the team had not privately contacted her or her sons in the wake of the scandal.
She added,
“If you’re in the business of protecting women — I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m okay, to see if my children are okay.”
As previously reported, Long and Udoka recently called it quits after 13 years of dating and seven years of being engaged. The announcement came after Massai Z. Dorsey, the father of Long’s oldest son, claimed she was sticking beside him 100 percent in light of his affair with a Celtics staffer.
According to an inside source,
“The situation is unfortunate and painful, but Nia is focusing on her children and rebuilding her life.”
A rep for the Best Man Holiday actress confirmed they are,
“no longer together but remain fully committed to co-parenting their son [Kez].”
