Megan Thee Stallion’s Bodyguard Misses Trial Date, Was Reportedly Going To Testify That Tory Lanez Apologized To Him A Day After The Shooting
A key witness in the ongoing trial between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez is currently MIA.
According to to a breaking report from TheShadeRoom, Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard Justin Edison went “missing” ahead of his scheduled court appearance. Edison reportedly stopped responding to authorities once the trial began, and has been in the wind since.
As previously reported, the long awaited shooting trial between Megan, born Megan Pete, 27, and fellow musician Tory Lanez began earlier this week. Lanez, 30, is facing three felony charges for a 2020 shooting that resulted in serious injuries to Megan’s foot. Of the charges, include assault with a firearm and discharging a fire arm with gross negligence. Most witnesses, including Megan, Lanez, and the “Savage” artists’ ex-bff Kelsey Harris have already taken the stand. Megan’s bodyguard, Justin Edison, was supposed to be next up. However, the celebrity big man reportedly missed his scheduled court appearance.
Edison had reportedly previously told prosecutors in a witness statement that Lanez apologized to him at Megan’s rental home a day after the shooting. The report adds that Tory, born Daystar Peterson, blamed the incident on being too intoxicated. Edison was not present for the shooting, but reportedly stated Lanez claimed to have “accidentally” hit Megan after firing the pistol randomly. Right when Edison was supposed to tell his story to the jury, however, he’s said to have disappeared.
Megan’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, reportedly released a statement on Edison’s whereabouts, stating:
“We recently learned that Justin Edison went missing right before he was scheduled to appear in court. The L.A. District Attorney is currently looking into his disappearance and welcomes any information on his whereabouts,”
Following the statement, another report clarified that the LAPD does not currently have a missing person’s case for Edison. Reportedly, his disappearance isn’t significantly alarming to authorities just yet. The bodyguard most recently posted on social media two weeks ago, uploading photos from a gig at the World Cup held in Qatar with the caption:
“Closing out the year protecting clients over the next few weeks of the World Cup. Another country stamp, God is Good #blessed”
At this time there is still no word on Edison’s location. Additional witnesses yet to take the stand may include reality TV star Kylie Jenner and her mother’s boyfriend Corey Gamble.
