The Wayans are continuing to expand their family dynasty in Hollywood!
Legendary actor/comedian Damon Wayans and his son, Damon Wayans Jr., have teamed up for an all-new comedy project.

The yet-to-be-titled pilot, which was recently ordered by CBS, follows an illustrious radio host (Damon Wayans) in his pursuit of readjusting to life after divorce. Seemingly enjoying his newfound solitude and the fresh shot at love that may be peaking from the other side of it, it’s not too long before he remembers that he still has to parent his grown son (Damon Wayans Jr.).
At this time, not many details are available, but the endeavor’s logline read:
“Legendary talk radio host and happily divorced ‘Poppa’ has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son, a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.”

Aside from starring in the forthcoming production, Damon Wayans will co-write and executive produce, along with Damon Wayans Jr, in conjunction with CBS Studios.
This, however, isn’t the first time that the funny father/son duo has worked together. Wayans guest-starred in the network’s 2018 sitcom, ‘Happy Together,‘ which Wayans Jr. led alongside Amber Stevens West, Felix Mallard, Stephnie Weir, Victor Williams, and Chris Parnell.

Additionally, you may recognize the 40-year-old from Netflix’s 2021 film, ‘The Harder They Fall,’ featuring Regina King, and as the voice of Arnold Evans from ‘Bob’s Burgers.’
As for his father, no extensive introduction is needed. Deemed comedic royalty, following his breakthrough on ‘In Living Color,’ Wayans is most notable for his role as Major Benson Winifred Payne in the military-focused classic ‘Major Payne’ as well as his early-2000s series created for ABC, ‘My Wife & Kids.’
