Damon Dash Cleared Of Civil Sexual Battery Claim From Woman Who Alleged He Sexually Assaulted Her While She Was A Guest In His House
Roc-A-Fella co-founder Dame Dash is fresh off of a court win.
According to legal affairs reporter Meghann Cuniff, a federal L.A. jury recently acquitted Dame Dash, born Damon Anthony Dash, on a civil sexual battery claim brought by a photographer.
Reportedly, photographer Monique Bunn was hired by Dame Dash back in 2019 to shoot content for his fashion line Poppington. In the suit, Bunn reportedly claimed she stayed at the 51-year-old’s home with his wife on the first night of shooting for the project. While sleeping in his daughter’s room, Dash allegedly entered and groped the woman’s breast and butt without her consent. Bunn said she was only wearing a robe with no undergarments and was able to fight Dash off, though she did remain in the house.
Elsewhere in the suit, Bunn also accused Dash of stealing 100,000 photos she took of hip-hop artists and defaming her after. Reportedly, the photographer was seeking $50 million for the assault claim as well as $1,500 per stolen photo, amounting to a total of $200 million in damages.
However, according to Cuniff’s report, Dash was victorious in the end. All charges were dismissed, and the music exec will only be required to pay $15,000 for defamation. The win is surely a change from Dash’s recent court rulings. As we reported last year, the entrepreneur found himself $800,000 in the hole after losing the rights to a movie he allegedly stole.
