Joe Mixon — Police Reportedly Entered NFL Player’s Home Amid Investigation Into Alleged Shooting That Left Juvenile Injured
Sheriff’s Deputies in Hamilton County, Ohio, entered the home of Bengals running back Joe Mixon early Tuesday (Mar. 7) morning, hours after responding to a “shots fired” call that left a juvenile injured.
Deputies initially responded to the 7900 block of Ayers Road around 8:30 p.m. (on Mar. 6) after receiving a call that gunshots had been fired. According to police, one juvenile was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. It’s unclear how the juvenile was injured.
On-the-scene reporter Chancelor Winn said deputies put crime scene caution tape around the house. At about 11:30 p.m., deputies were seen banging on Joe Mixon’s door while saying,
“Sheriff’s Department. Come out.”
Joe Mixon’s home still has Sheriff’s deputies out front, the side, & the backyard. Around 11:30p.m. Deputies banged on his front door saying “Sheriff’s Department. Come out.” Crime scene tape was extended across the driveway then too. @FOX19 pic.twitter.com/Tk6R90mlWb

At about 1:30 a.m., a law enforcement officer arrived with an envelope of documents, and shortly after deputies entered the home and were seen searching with flashlights. The crime scene tape was taken down around 3:20 a.m. and deputies left without making an arrest.
While it’s unclear if Joe Mixon had any involvement in the investigation, his sister told reporters that the NFL player
“was not involved in the shooting Monday night that injured a teenager.”
This incident comes just one month after the running back faced one count of misdemeanor aggravated menacing for allegedly threatening to shoot a woman during a road rage incident. The charge was later dismissed.
This story is still developing.
