Nick Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Avoids Court Ordered Mediation w/ Rape Accuser After Becoming Ill

Rap star Nicki Minaj’s other half is seemingly stalling a court mandate.

Legal documents have reportedly revealed that Kenneth Petty, 44, has repeatedly pushed back a court ordered mediation session with his rape accuser, claiming to have come down with an illness.

If you recall, the celebrity husband’s checkered past involving manslaughter and attempted rape has continuously re-emerged since 1995. Kenneth Petty served four years at the time for the murder charge, and is currently engaged in a legal battle with the alleged rape victim Jennifer Hough.

Back in 2021, Jennifer Hough sued Onika ‘Nicki’ Minaj, 40, and her man for allegedly harassing her. Hough claimed the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” artist along with Kenneth Petty were pressuring her to recant her previous statement. Though the charges against Minaj were dropped, Hough’s case against Petty is still ongoing. In the mean time, a court judge ordered the two the have a mediation session to settle the case, which the NY native is reportedly continuing to avoid.

Petty reportedly cited illness as the reason he was unable to attend the session originally scheduled for March 6th. After moving the date to March 9th, his legal team reportedly submitted documents that read:

“We respectfully request that the Court extend the mediation deadline to March 24, 2023, which will hopefully be sufficient time for Mr. Petty to recover and the for parties and the Mediator to schedule a mutually available date for the mediation,”

While his drama with Hough unfolded a couple og years ago, Petty also ran into legal trouble in California. Minaj’s husband was arrested after failing to register as a sex offender in the West Coast state where the couple live with their young son. Petty was sentenced to a year of house arrest and three years of probation. To date, he is still in an ongoing lawsuit against the State of New York over his allegedly outdated sex offender status.
