Rapper Cordae Doesn’t Want His Child w/ Tennis Star Naomi Osaka To Work In The Music Industry: ‘Unless I Hear A Hit, […] I’d Be Like Nah’
Despite being a rapper, YBN Cordae doesn’t want his offspring to follow in his footsteps.
While guest appearing on Lebron Jame’s talk series “The Shop” recently, the 25-year-old made it clear he has no plans to support rap dreams in his household.
The conversation began after Cordae asked the group, which included comedian Druski and sports-marketing businessman Maverick Carter, if they’d prefer their children become a comedian or a rapper. Carter expressed concerns, stating that becoming a successful rapper is a “thin needle to slice.” While Cordae, on the other hand, outright stated he would shut the aspiration down almost completely. He said:
“I’m not gone lie…unless they’re like dead nice at making records…unless I hear a hit, I could be a hypocrite – [but] I’d be like ‘nah'”
The “Two Tens” rapper, who is expecting his first child with tennis star Naomi Osaka, went on the get schooled by another guest after making the comment. Music exec Steve Stoute subsequently posed the scenario where the child could have a better sense of what it takes to be successful at the time of their upbringing.
Though he seemed to be taking in the advice earnestly, Cordae simply rebutted:
“Imma be like ‘well you just lost your first investor'”
Cordae and his famous athlete girlfriend Naomi Osaka, 25, made their baby announcement back in January. The celebs have been dating since 2019, and seem to be thoroughly excited awaiting the child’s arrival. In a post revealing her pregnancy, Osaka shared a picture of her sonogram, writing:
““Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.”
