Cardi B Attempts To Seize Tasha K’s YouTube Checks To Collect $4M Defamation Judgment
One way or another, Cardi B is going to get her money from Tasha K.
According to reports, the one-time Grammy-award winner mailed subpoenas to Tasha K’s bank and Google, who oversee her nemesis’ advertising revenue on her website and YouTube. Reportedly, the notice reads:
“YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED to immediately hold all money, including wages, and other property, except what is known to be exempt, belonging to the Defendant or obligations owed to the Defendant named above beginning on the day of service of this summons and including the next 1,095 days.”
A Google representative reportedly spoke to Cardi B – real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus – about the complication. The rep claims that blogger Tasha K had $9,304 in revenue.
As previously reported, last year Cardi B, 30, won a $4 million judgment against Tasha K – born Latasha Kebe – who was found guilty of defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress after posting fabricated YouTube content about the rapper using hard drugs and contracting STD’s. Since then, Cardi’s legal team has been working overtime seizing Tasha’s checks to get their client the millions she’s owed.
Tasha, 41, filed an appeal against the ruling. In addition, she accused the judge who oversaw the trial of improperly allowing the exclusion of character evidence that was “extremely relevant” to show the jury what she perceived to be Cardi’s character. Her attorney’s argued that evidence about the “Bodak Yellow” artists’ “character” should be able to be presented in a case centered on possible harm to her reputation.
