Timbaland Receives Mixed Reactions After Using AI To Create His Dream Collab w/ The Late Biggie Smalls
AI has made Timbaland’s dream come true.
On Wednesday (May 3) the legendary producer took to Instagram to share a project that he never thought he’d have the opportunity to create. Timbaland is known in the music industry for his creative mindset and unique production work. Throughout his career, he’s worked with a lot of heavy hitters, such as; Aaliyah, Missy Elliott, Justin Timberlake, and Jay-Z. However, despite his impressive list of production credits, Timbaland never got the chance to work with Biggie Smalls — his dream collab — until now.
In the video shared with his 3.9 million IG followers, Timbaland revealed that thanks to AI (artificial intelligence) he was able to make his dream come true and collab with the late rapper.
Timaland said:
“Alright so, I’m sitting here with my brother, Creatr God, and we know that it’s a lot of talk about AI and we know how the feelings of violating certain things.“But let me tell you something: I got a solution, I’m working on it. It’s gon’ be beneficial to everybody.”

As you may know, Biggie – real name Christopher George Latore Wallace – signed to Diddy’s label Bad Boy Records when it debuted in 1993. The rapper’s career soon took off and his debut album “Ready to Die” was met with widespread critical acclaim.
Unfortunately, Biggie’s time at the top was short-lived and in 1997 he was murdered at 24 years old in a drive-by shooting.

Timbaland’s unofficial collab with Biggie has received mixed reactions. Some Instagram users reacted positively to the work Timbaland created, while others expressed that AI-generated music could never replace the real thing.
