Swizz Beatz & Timbaland Claim They Still Own 100% Of ‘Verzuz’ Despite Triller Sale
Swizz Beatz & Timbaland are allegedly still 100 percent in control of Verzuz!
Rumors have swirled about the battle web series after the megaproducers allowed Triller to buy them out in an eight-figure deal in March 2021. But despite what you may have heard, Verzuz is still Black-owned.
The co-owners recently took some time out of their busy schedules and jumped on Instagram Live to update fans on the future of Verzuz. Swizz Beatz said,
“50 percent on the top of your screen, and 50 percent on the bottom of your screen. In case you ain’t know. Word to Allah. OK?”

You may recall that some fans worried that the Triller acquisition had erased the culture that Verzuz built at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
As previously reported, last September Swizz Beatz and Timbaland settled a lawsuit with Triller after they sued the platform for $28 million. The large lump sum was allegedly owed after the producers sold Verzuz to Triller in March of 2021. In a statement, Swizz and Timbaland reportedly stated,
“Verzuz has always been a platform that is by the artists, for the artists and with the people.”
They added,
“We’re glad to come to an amicable agreement with Triller and continue giving fans the music and community that they’ve come to know and love from the brand.”
