Keke Palmer’s Estranged Partner Darius Jackson Admits To Holding Her To A ‘Perfect Standard’

Keke Palmer’s (suspected ex) boyfriend Darius Jackson recently spoke out about their relationship.

During a recent episode of Keke Palmer’s podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer, Darius spoke candidly and admitted he once held the Nope actress to a “perfect standard” after going public with their relationship.

Darius Jackson explained,

“At first, it definitely was hard because it could all be very overwhelming. It was definitely overwhelming and intense at first.”

Keke Palmer agreed and said,

“It was.”

It’s important to note that even though the interview was recently aired, it was conducted prior to the couple’s viral fallout.

He continued,

“And it’s like, you almost feel that pressure of needing to be perfect. And so, it really confused me and infiltrated my mind because not only did I have to hold myself to that perfect standard, I was also holding you to a perfect standard as well.”

He added,

“So, any moment of flaw on my side or on your side it was World War III because it’s like…”

Palmer interjected and said,

“And now the world sees us.”

While reflecting on their relationship, Palmer added,

“It’s a lot of pressure, because we are very proud and there are things that we want to share…at the same time we do want to be able to maintain the privacy of our relationship, and I feel like we’ve done such a good job at being able to do that.”

Palmer and Jackson began dating in 2021, and welcomed their first child, son Leo, in February.

Last week, things took a turn for the worse when Darius Jackson publicly called out Keke Palmer for wearing, what he deemed to be, a revealing outfit at an Usher concert in Las Vegas. Jackson retweeted a video of Palmer dancing with the “Confessions” singer and said,

“It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.”

Jackson instantly received backlash for his comment, which started a frenzy online as fans of Palmer came to her defense.

Following the negative response to his comments, he tweeted,

“We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is…This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”

The 29-year-old soon deactivated his social media accounts, however, he’s back and it looks like he’s made a very noticeable change to his Instagram page. After reactivating his Instagram, it appears that Darius has fully wiped the mother of his child from his page. Keke Palmer, however, still has images of Darius on her account at the moment

Palmer seemingly responded to the drama in a video with her son Leo. She captioned the post,

“One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through!….To all my mom’s out there, how did your baby change you?? Mine empowered me! On such another level, my perspective changed because when my baby is good I’m GREAT! Look at that face! Gratitude galore.”
