Tina Knowles Makes First Post Amid News of Her Divorce: ‘Only God Is Perfect’

Tina Knowles is speaking out for the first time since the news of her divorce made headlines and it looks like she has an important message she wants to share.

On Thursday (July 27), Tina Knowles took to Instagram and shared a post about perfection with many fans thinking this could have something to do with her recent divorce. The post was a quote from Michael J. Fox which read,

“I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God’s business.”

She then captioned the post stating that anyone who thinks they are perfect are delusional. Tina wrote,

“Came across this quote this morning. I could not agree more with Micheal J Fox! I believe Any human being who thinks that they are perfect, or someone else could be perfect is delusional! ! I believe that Only God is perfect ! What about you?”

As no surprise, social media users assumed that Tina’s message was towards her soon to be ex-husband. Some even thought it may be in response to a resurfaced video of Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson. The video is from an interview the former couple did for Black Love back in 2018. In the clip, Tina is seen praising her husband, however, she also makes a point to say he’s far from perfect. The clip resurfaced amid news of their divorce and now has fans thinking her post could also be a response to the frenzy surrounding that video.

One fan wrote,

“No one is perfect or should be offended to hear that they aren’t.”

As previously reported, Richard Lawson and Tina Knowles have called it quits after eight years of marriage. According to reports, Tina filed for divorce on Wednesday (Jul. 26) citing irreconcilable differences, and listed their date of separation as Tuesday (Jul. 25). The fashion designer wants the court to terminate the ability to award spousal support to her or Lawson.
