Former NFL Star Michael Irvin Blast’s Rapper Son For Fabricating Lyrics To Fit The “Thug Life” Persona: ‘You Lived In A Gated Community!’
Football legend Michael Irvin is letting it be known what he think’s about his son’s rap career.
The ex athlete didn’t hold back during a recent TV appearance where he called his son out over rapping lyrics that are untrue to his actual life experiences.

During a recent episode of Skip Bayless‘ sports show Undisputed, Michael Irvin exposed his son – who goes by the rap name Tut Tarantino, claiming the life he portray’s in his music is not truly reflective of the life he’s lived. He stated:
“I got a son. He raps. His rap name is Tut Tarantino. If you ever listen to some of his raps. I’m like, ‘Oh my god.’ Where does this come from, son? You grew up in a gated community your whole life.”

He continued:
“But he’s rapping my life. Because we romanticize and fantasize about that old thug life, ghetto life, and all of that stuff… we used to work to get away from. Now, we’ve gotten to a place somehow where we’re running back towards it. In the music, in everything.”
It seems the Dallas Cowboy icon’s emotions about the topic flared as the group was discussing the turbulent last year of NBA star Ja Morant. As we previously covered, the 24-year-old Memphis Grizzlies player received an 8 game suspension back in March after he appeared on an instagram live video holding a gun while on the road with his team. Following a public apology and promise to do better, Morant was suspended just 2 short months later for showing himself once again online with a gun, leaving the internet in a full on frenzy.

As far as Irvin’s son goes, who real name reportedly is Elijah, this isn’t the first time he’s called him out over his rap lyrics. According to one report, the sports commentator slammed his son for lying in his music during a 2019 TV appearance, where he stated:
“He raps about some of the hardest stuff in the world…I say to him, ‘Son, you grew up in a 20,000 square foot. gated community! Where does this stuff come from?'”
And reportedly added:
“I worked hard to get you out of this, and you’re rapping right back to it.”
However, it seems Tut Tarantino has continued to make the kind of music he wants. Though it doesn’t appear the musician has been very active lately, it does seem he may have heard his father’s criticism about him. On what appears to be his official instagram, Tut Tarantino uploaded a picture of himself standing in front of a mansion with the caption:
“BURBZBABY”

While it’s unclear whether or not the rapper was offended by Irvin’s remarks, social media users certainly seem to agree with the Hall of Famer exposing his son’s falsified life. Many jumped in the comments section to defend the former athlete against those who felt his action’s were wrong, arguing that it’s good he encourages his child to be more authentic and steer’s him away from a dangerous lifestyle before it’s too late.
