Marlon Wayans’ Case Dismissed For Allegedly Disturbing The Peace At Denver Airport, Says United Airlines Employee Discriminated Against Him Because He’s Black: ‘This Was All Bullsh*t, I Was Targeted’

Actor Marlon Wayans is officially clear from any charges wanted against him after a dispute went down with an employee at a Denver airport.

Today (Oct. 23) Marlon Wayans took to his Instagram account to address a court case for a citing violation he received in June. Reportedly, the comedian was cited for disturbing the peace after a United Airlines employee allegedly targeted him and his luggage because of his race.

According to court documents, the gate agent would not allow Marlon Wayans to board his flight to Kansas City with three bags. While the 51-year-old managed to merge his belongings into two bags to abide by the airline’s policy, the employee allegedly tried to block Wayans from getting on the flight. He ended up boarding the plane but was asked to get off before it departed.

The legal paperwork also accused the airline gate agent of allowing white passengers with three bags and oversized bags to board the flight, which go against the airline’s policy. According to reports, the filing included still images of white passengers with yellow arrows pointing to each of their bags.

However, United Airlines said in a statement that the entertainer “pushed past” the employee as he attempted to board the plane, which Wayans’ lawyers argued is a lie.

Last week, Wayans’ attorneys appeared in court for the incident and asked for dismissal of the case. In addition, they said if Denver prosecutors proceed to charge Wayans they are continuing the treatment of racial discrimination brought by the gate agent and denying the actor’s right to equal protection under the law.

Wayans’ lawyers said,

“The City of Denver’s position is an affront to constitutional and social equity principles.”

Despite the gate agent requesting that charges be pursued, Wayans’ case was ultimately dismissed. In a post, he shared his thoughts on the case getting dropped and wrote,

“Thanks to the C.A. In Denver and all the supporters. This was all BULL**** I was TARGETED. This @united employee cost me money, convenience and time. Just because you wake up on the wrong side of the bed it doesn’t give you the right to be rude to customers. My apologies to the disappointed fans that was left hanging because of this incident. And whoever the customer service rep is that called me to enforce the policies that i did not break and defend the employee instead of PROTECT THE CUSTOMER you can find the gate agent and drive off the same d*mn cliff like Thelma & Louise.”

Wayans continued,

“I hope @united compensates me for my losses, stress and inconvenience so i can close the book on this whole damn thing. I realize i am a celebrity and often times i do get preferential treatment and i am GRATEFUL to any and all those who’ve gone out their way to make thing convenient for me. So thank you for that.”

He added,

“But no paying customer should be miss treated by an employee just because thev’re in some type of mood. People be nice to people…… just be decent. It feels good. Have a blessed day”
