Azealia Banks Claims Diplo Would Pressure Her Into Having Sex In Exchange For Beats When She Was An Up & Coming Artist: ‘I Was A Little *ss F*cking Girl’
Azealia Banks has never been one to bite her tongue.
Earlier this week the rapper/songwriter unleashed a profanity-laced rant on Instagram as she shared her true thoughts on her VIBE Magazine cover with Diplo, which took place over 10 years ago.
Azealia Banks said,
“I was very confused when I was called by Vibe magazine and being told that I was going to be on a cover with Diplo. … I don’t even have any Diplo songs. Do any of us even know any Diplo records?”
She continued,
“Do you know like, the types of terrible f*cking things Diplo used to do to me when I was 17 and broke. … You don’t know your right foundation color yet and all type of sh*t like that. I was a little *ss f*cking girl. … Do you know the type of just f*cking like, racist, demeaning sh*t that ni**a would do to me.”

Azealia Banks then alleged that Diplo pressured her into having sex with him by promising her music beats. She also claimed that he would leave her in the hotel room alone and wouldn’t allow her to order anything to eat.
She added,
“So yeah, I really, really, really need everyone to stop running with that narrative of how Diplo found me. Diplo did not find me. I was discovered on MySpace by a guy named 77Klash. Thank you very much.”
The referenced VIBE Magazine cover seems to have taken place in 2012 when she appeared alongside the super-producer for the August/September issue.
And this isn’t the first time Diplo has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a much younger Black woman.
As previously reported, Diplo, 45, made headlines in 2020 after it was revealed that he was living with TikTok creator Quenlin Blackwell, who was 19 at the time.
He later clarified his affiliation with Quenlin Blackwell via X, asserting that he was just her landlord. At the time, he said,
“OK so I rent one of my properties to Quenlin Blackwell. And yes I use the studio that is in that building. Her social media is sarcastic and chaotic and I can see you can get a twisted idea but there is nothing but a friendship between us.”
He added,
“As a land lord I don’t really consider age or race as a qualification. U just gotta pay security deposit. And don’t poke holes in the walls or ruin my carpet.”

Quenlin Blackwell followed up with a tweet of her own, saying,
“I’m and adult. I’m not being groomed. Platonic relationships exist. I’ve been living here for over a year..I’d rather break both of my legs and be forced to walk than pursue Diplo romantically and he’d rather choke.”
She added,
“He’s barely in LA bc he’s so busy. Diplo has given me the opportunity and the security to create. Diplo and his team are my mentors in LA and they are my safety net. Diplo and his team have saved me numerous times from the weirdos in LA. My parents trust him. I trust him. Ya’ll are making me feel icky. Diplo is my LA dad.. nothing more.”
