Whoopi Goldberg Defends Dolly Parton’s Halftime Performance Outfit As A Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader: ‘Bite Me!’
Whoopi Goldberg has come to Dolly Parton’s defense after the music icon faced criticism for her skimpy attire during a recent NFL halftime show.
In a new episode of “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg, 68, slammed critics who felt that it was inappropriate for Dolly Parton to dress as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader at her age. The 77-year-old country singer wore the sheer uniform for the Thanksgiving Day game between the Cowboys and the Washington Commanders in Dallas.
The singer/songwriter took the stage with several professional cheerleaders and performed her best hits during the televised halftime show, including; “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” and “We Are the Champions.”

During the talk show’s “Hot Topics” segment, Whoopi Goldberg stood up for the musician’s outfit of choice and said,
“Apparently, my turkey wasn’t the only subject online that people were hating.”
The EGOT winner continued,
“77-year-old superstar Dolly Parton stole the show on Thanksgiving at the Cowboys-Commanders game dressed as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, but some critics told her to act her age. Bite me!”
Whoopi Goldberg added,
“Everybody that participated in this, you should be ashamed of yourself.”
“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin agreed with Goldberg, also sharing her support for Dolly Parton. The 55-year-old said,
“As far as Dolly is concerned, if I looked like that in one of them Cowboy things, I might have everything out. I don’t know if that’s a belly ring or what but I want what she has.”
