‘The View’ Hosts Upset At Oprah Skipping Their Interview During ‘The Color Purple’ Press Tour, Sources Say
Looks like the women of “The View” have some beef with Oprah Winfrey.
Reportedly, the daytime TV show’s hosts are upset at the media mogul for not appearing on a recent interview they did for the coming film “The Color Purple”.

According to Radar Online, inside sources claim the TV hosts feel slighted by Oprah Winfrey. The hosts, which includes Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin reportedly feel disrespected by the OWN network founder after she opted not to take part in the interview they recently did promoting the film, which Goldberg and Winfrey initially starred in together. In case you’re unfamiliar, the 1985 version of Alice Walker’s novel that featured the actresses is a critically acclaimed project, and helped launch both Goldberg and Winfrey into movie stardom.

Naturally the women of the 2023 remake of the film hitting theaters this Christmas, co-produced by Winfrey, recently stopped by “The View” to talk about the movie. While three of the films stars, Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, and Danielle Brooks, appeared on the episode, the media mogul was notably absent. One insider reportedly claimed that scheduling conflicts caused Winfrey’s absence from the show. However, it seems the hosts were particularly irritated by the situation as the billionaire has made time to appear on other talk shows promoting the film, including Gayle King’s CBS Mornings, The Drew Barrymore Show, as well as Sherri Shepherd’s Sherri.

An insider reportedly suggested that the daytime talk show hosts feel Winfrey intentionally missed the interview, telling news outlets:
“The View is p—– that Oprah avoided The View,”
However, her reps reportedly released a statement after missing the episode, seemingly clarifying that there are just some appearances she won’t be able to attend. The statement reportedly read:
“As one of the producers, there have been appearances Ms. Winfrey did not participate in with the cast and was unable to be in New York when this segment was filmed right after Thanksgiving,”
Adding:
“She is overjoyed to see the cast have their moment,”
It does not appear that any further statements have been made regarding the situation at this time.
