Creative Director Bryan Tanaka has confirmed that he and the “Loverboy” singer are no longer together. Rumors initially surfaced that they broke up when fans noticed that Bryan was missing from Mariah’s “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour and her family’s annual winter trip to Aspen.

Letting people know that they had an “amicable separation,” he wrote,

“With mixed emotions, I share this personal update regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together. Our decision to embark on different paths is mutual, and as we navigatethese separate journeys, we do so with profound respect and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the invaluable time we’ve shared. The memories we’ve created and the artistic collaborations are etched in my heart forever.”

Bryan continued,

“Mariah’s dedication to her family and her commitment to her craft have inspired us during our shared journey. I want to express my love and appreciation for Mariah and her incredible children, whose warmth and kindness have enriched my life in ways words cannot capture.
During this sensitive time, I kindly ask for your understanding, privacy and respect. The outpouring of love and support from fans has beena beacon of strength, and I am extremely grateful for the encouragement that continuesto uplift me.”

He added,

“I eagerly anticipate continuing my journey, knowing my passion for inspiration, dance, and the creative arts will resonate in the unfolding chapters.”

Original Story: (Dec. 19, 2023): Mariah Carey may be bringing in the New Year as a single woman. 

Famed entertainer Mariah Carey and her long-time beau Bryan Tanaka seemed to have parted ways. The usually inseparable pair have reportedly not been seen together as they routinely are during the holiday season. According to reports, since the popstar’s “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour started last month, Bryan has been M.I.A., which is uncommon since he’s rarely missed any of her shows since working as her creative director in 2006. In addition to not being seen during Mariah Carey’s recent performances, Bryan allegedly did not accompany the songstress on her annual winter trip to Aspen, leaving many to speculate that their 7-year relationship has run its course.

Reportedly, in 2017, Tanaka took the stage with Mariah during her “All I Want for Christmas Is You” shows and spent Christmas with her and her children on their family trip to Aspen. This routine has been an ongoing tradition since they started dating, however, it seems that’s no longer the case. 

Last seen together in March while celebrating Mariah’s birthday, the couple seemed to be going strong. Bryan doted over Mariah when he posted a photo of them on his Instagram page with the caption, 

“This is one of my favorite pictures. Ever. Happy Anniversary my Beautiful Queen.”

Mariah’s Instagram page, however, looks a little different. The only photo of the dancer was posted on the Grammy Award winners’ page in December 2022, while the two were cozied up at a boxing event.

Carey and Tanaka began dating in 2016, shortly after her engagement to James Packer ended. Though they initially seemed to hit it off heavily, the pair separated briefly in 2017. Once reunited, the couple has been connected at the hip, often seen holding hands and kissing in public. 

Two people not absent from Mariah’s tour were her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, whom she shares with T.V./radio host Nick Cannon. Last week, the talented duo joined their superstar mother on stage at Madison Square Garden for her final show of the holiday tour. 

Neither Mariah nor Bryan have confirmed or denied rumors of their split.
