Jonathan Majors Says He Was ‘Absolutely Shocked’ By Guilty Verdict In Domestic Violence Trial + Praises Girlfriend Meagan Good For Holding Him Down ‘Like A Coretta’

Jonathan Majors is ready to put his 2023 drama to rest.

As you may recall, in March 2023, the actor had a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari while in the backseat of an SUV. The professional dancer accused Jonathan Majors of being the abusive one not only during the March incident but throughout their entire relationship. However, Jonathan Majors has denied her allegations.

In a new interview with ABC News anchor Linsey Davis that aired today (Jan. 8), Majors continued to maintain his innocence and shared that he was “absolutely shocked” by the jury’s final verdict. The former Marvel star was ultimately found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a charge of harassment as a violation. He was acquitted on another charge of assault and one of aggravated harassment.

He continued,

“I’m standing there and the verdict comes down, I say, ‘How is that possible?’ Based off the evidence — based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence — how is that possible?”

As previously reported, Grace Jabbari claimed that after she snatched Majors’ phone from him because she saw a flirty text from another woman he fractured her finger and hit her in the face as he tried to take the device back. During his latest interview, Majors shut down Jabbari’s version of events, saying,

“That did not happen.”

When asked how his ex received her injuries he claimed,

“I wish to God I knew. That would give clarity, that would give me some type of peace about it.”

He later added,

“I shouldn’t have been in the car. I shouldn’t have stepped out of the relationship. I shouldn’t have been in the relationship. If I’m not in the car, none of this is happening. If I leave the relationship, none of this is happening. If I’m man enough or brave enough to say, ‘I want to see someone else’ or ‘I’m done now,’ I’m not in that car. We’re not here. I’m responsible for those things.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Majors praised his current girlfriend Meagan Good for standing by his side. The pair went public with their relationship shortly after “The Harder They Fall” star was accused of abuse by Jabbari. While speaking on Meagan Good, he said,

“She’s an angel. She’s held me down like a Coretta [Scott King]. I’m so blessed to have her.”

He added,

The relationship is still fresh, but I think I found her.”
