Monica Says She’s ‘Grateful’ For Nicki Minaj, Reveals She’ll Be Joining The ‘Pink Friday 2’ Tour: ‘It’s Pretty Cool Not To Be Forgotten’
Shared fans of Monica and Nicki Minaj will be elated to hear they’re going on tour together!
The songstress announced Thursday (Feb. 8) that she’ll be joining the rap star on her forthcoming “Pink Friday 2” tour which begins next month.

MonicaMonica, full name Monica Denise Arnold, 43, shared the big reveal during an episode of Jennifer Hudson’s daytime TV series “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” After the EGOT winner inquired about what fans can expect next from the singer/songwriter, Monica shared that she’s working on her next album as well as a country music project called “Open Roads.” She also stated for the first time ever that she’ll be a special guest on Nicki Minaj’s forthcoming tour.

During the announcement, Monica also shared her love for Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj, 41, and showed her gratitude for being invited along for the concert series. She stated:
“I get a chance to hit all these cities that mean so much to me…and I’m really grateful for Nicki because she’s one of those people that has always said ‘Monica meant everything to my childhood’ and some people they act like they forget.”
She added:
“So it’s pretty cool not to be forgotten and to be called for things like such. So we gon’ show up and show out.”
The “Everybody” rapper also shared her excitement for having Monica join her tour. Minaj took to her Instagram page to share the news herself, writing the caption:
“I’ve said many times, this woman has been one of my biggest inspirations since I was in Junior H.S. The iconic, trendsetting, Miss Thang herself- hits on hits on hits
QUEEN @monicadenise will be one of the incredible artists accompanying me on the US dates of the #PinkFriday2 #GagCity Tour”

Commenters seem to be super excited to see the duo in the same arenas. Many took to the comment section to express their love and anticipation for Monica’s tour performance and even mentioned their preferences for some of her hits.

The US leg for the “Pink Friday 2” tour is set to begin March 1st in Oakland, California. Minaj also announced that several more show dates have been added and there will be several more on the way.
