Davido Drops $250K On Custom-Made Chain To Honor 3-Year-Old Son Who Drowned
Losing a child is never easy.
As previously reported, in late October 2022 Nigerian-American singer Davido and his wife Chioma Rowland‘s young son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, lost his life by drowning in a swimming pool. The tragic incident reportedly occurred at the couple’s Lagos home. Davido, real name David Adedeji Adeleke, and his family haven’t publicly spoken too much about the three-year-old’s death, however, last June during an interview the “Unavailable” artist reportedly shared,
“I miss him every day, there are tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you don’t have to see it.”
He added,
“My son up there is looking down at me. Apart from me being strong for his mom, which is my primary responsibility, I have to be strong for the world.”
It looks like the 3x Grammy nominee is doing whatever it takes to keep his son’s memory alive as he recently dropped 6-figures on a chain dedicated to the late toddler. The shiny piece depicts Ifeanyi Adeleke as a guardian angel with what appears to be a flower crown reportedly made out of diamonds, opal, topaz, and citrine around his head. According to TMZ, celebrity jeweler Gabriel Jacobs is behind the lavish chain that contains 8,000 stones, weighs 60 carats in total, and costs $250,000.
No word just yet on when Davido will debut the chain, however, he is scheduled to appear at the Raha Fest in Kenya next month so fans might be able to check out the custom-made accessory then.
