Serena Williams Speaks On Loving Herself After Giving Birth For The Second Time: ‘Right Now I Love That My Body Is Not Picture Perfect’

Tennis star Serena Williams is keeping it candid when it comes to her adjustment to life as a mother-of-two.

The 42-year-old superstar athlete recently took to Instagram to share with her 17 million followers an inspiring message promoting the notion of self-love. In the post, Serena Williams can be seen posing in a  two-piece bikini as she embraces her postpartum body with her baby girl in her arms.

You may recall that Serena Williams previously stated that she planned to take some time away from tennis to focus on growing her family and will return when the time is right.

The sports star welcomed her second child, Adira River Ohanian, with her husband Alexis Ohanian, 40, back in August. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., who goes by Olympia, in September 2017.

Earlier today (February 12), Williams took a moment to acknowledge the changes her body has been through since giving birth for the second time, noting that the experience “has been well worth it.”

She captioned the post,

“Loving yourself is essential. I find that I have to remind myself of that self-love through all different stages in my life. Right now I love that my body is not picture perfect. I love that I smell like milk – that milk sustains @adiraohanian I love getting to know a new version of my body. It is a change, but it’s a change that has been well worth it. So start this week, knowing that you are loved, and that starts with you.

Following Williams’ latest post showcasing her post-baby body, many took to the comment section to give their praise to the tennis icon.

One comment came from R&B singer/actress Kelly Rowland, 43. She wrote,

“My love, your body …..you FIONNE! FINE!!!! And had two babies!! I couldn’t be more proud of you! I LOVE YOU! We all do!!”

Gushing over his wife, another comment was dropped off by Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian in the form of heart eyes.
