Kanye West Said He Once Asked Safaree If Nicki Minaj Would Consider A Threesome w/ Him & Amber Rose, Unaware They Were Dating + Safaree Confirms ‘That Happened’

Rap star Kanye West recently told a wild story about wanting to get with Nicki Minaj while she was dating Safaree.

According to the Vultures artist, he was clueless that the two were a couple at the time and was trying to set up an intimate situation with him and his then-partner Amber Rose.

Kanye West told the story during an interview with Big Boy and Ty Dolla $ign on Friday (March 15th) after Big Boy Charlamagne that God slammed Safaree’s rap skills. Mentioning his own memorable interaction with the Jamaican-American rapper, West stated:

“You know what’s so messed up…we didn’t really know [he and Nicki were] together. So we was down doing ‘Dark Fantasy’ and he in the studio, I’m just thinking she wit a bad b*tch.”

Breaking out into laughter, he continued:

“I’m like ‘yo Safaree you think Nicki will let me and Amber hit like she said?'”

He was quickly informed that Safaree was Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend.

West went on to rap the lyrics he was referring to from his classic 2015 record “Monster”, which features verses from Minaj, Rick Ross, and Jay Z. In the song, Nicki Minaj suggests that she’ll have a threesome with West and Rose, rapping the line:

“Besides, Ye, they can’t stand besides me/ I think me, you and Amb’ should ménage Friday”

After the story started making headlines, Safaree took to social media to confirm the story is true, writing with laughing emoji’s per The Neighborhood Talk,

“Yea, that happened”

If you recall, Minaj and Safaree were in a long-term relationship before her launch to international stardom. The musicians collaborated on music together and were involved romantically from 2000 to 2014. Minaj has since married  Kenneth Petty, with whom she shares a young son.

As for Safaree, he went on to marry Love & Hip Hop star Erica Mena in 2019 before they split in 2022. The exes share two young children. Likewise, West and Rose dated 2008 to 2010 before the hip-hop icon married and divorced reality star Kim Kardashian in 2014 and 2021 respectively. The two share four young children and West has since married former Yeezy architect Bianca Censori.

Rose eventually went on to date rapper Wiz Khalifa, with whom she shares 10-year-old son Sebastian. The model was later engaged to music exec Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards until their relationship ended in 2021, after welcoming a son, Slash, together.
