Teyana Taylor Seeks Testimony Of Child Psychologist After Iman Shumpert Allegedly ‘Confused’ Their Daughter By Having A ‘Female Friend’ Sleep In The Bed w/Him
Famed entertainer Teyana Taylor is taking legal action in hopes of encouraging her ex not to have other women around their children.
The mom of two reportedly filed a court motion in her ongoing divorce case against estranged husband Iman Shumpert, accusing him of putting their daughters mental wellbeing at risk.
According to a report from Radar Online Teyana Taylor, 33, claims that her soon-to-be ex-husband Iman Shumpert, 33, had a woman sleeping over with him on his visitation days with their shared daughters Junie, 8, and Rue, 3, causing the eldest to be “confused.” Now, the “Rose In Harlem” songstress is asking the court to allow her to have a child psychologist testify in their divorce case about the lasting effects those types of actions can have on young children.
Taylor reportedly alleged the incident happened a few weeks ago during one of Shumpert’s weekends with the kids. The musician claimed she heard and saw a woman during a Facetime call with the children, and that the woman also accompanied the retired NBA star and his kids to the family jump park SkyZone sometime later. Afterwards, Taylor says Junie stated she was “confused” when she saw her father sharing a bed with the woman, and that Shumpert told the child his “friend” was staying the night because her house was “broken.”
Taylor reportedly argued that Shumpert is oblivious to the negative effects his actions can have on the children, and thus is asking the court to intervene. As we previously covered, Taylor’s secretly divorce filing went public back in September of last year, and the former love birds have been in a nasty settlement battle since. Most recently, the hooper vehemently denied Taylor’s claim that he vindictively cut off the utilities at the family home she stays in with their daughters.
Additionally, Taylor has also accused Shumpert of being mentally and emotionally abusive during their seven-year marriage and says he does not properly handle the children while they’re in his care. She claimed that the girls often go underfed and look “disheveled” while they’re with their dad, and wants primary custody and child support. Shumpert has consistently denied all of the entertainer’s claims, and has reportedly been fighting for joint legal and physical custody.
Taylor reportedly added in the new motion that Shumpert does not need to have another woman around when his children are present, as he only has them two weekends a month and a few Fridays. It has not been reported that a judge has ruled on the matter at this time.
