Singer Courtney Love Slammed After Saying ‘I Just Don’t Like’ Beyoncé’s Music & Taylor Swift Is ‘Not Important’

The BeyHive and Swifties have found a common enemy.

Courtney Love is trending on social media and the comments surrounding the “Miss Narcissist ” singer aren’t looking too good. During a recent interview, Courtney Love held nothing back as she shared her honest thoughts on a lot of music artists. For those unfamiliar with the 59-year-old, Courtney Love is the co-founder and former front lady of the alternative rock band Hole. The band was very popular in the 90s and early 2000s, and even earned four Grammy Award nominations and reportedly sold over three million records in the US.

Speaking on Beyoncé during her recent chat with a UK publication, Love said,

“I like the idea of Beyoncé doing a country record because it’s about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much. As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music.”

As previously reported, Beyoncé is currently riding the wave of her uber-successful eighth studio album “Cowboy Carter.” The body of work debuted at number one in several countries and set many records, including being the first album by a black woman to top the Top Country Albums chart.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Love revealed her issues with Taylor Swift, saying,

“Taylor is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.”

Taylor Swift and Beyoncé weren’t the only ones Love took shots at. She also aimed her sights at Madonna, letting it be known she doesn’t “like her” and the “Material Girl” artist’s feelings are mutual. In addition, Love called out Lana Del Rey, saying,

“I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off. Up until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ I thought she was great. When I was recording my new album, I had to stop listening to her as she was influencing me too much.”

It’s important to note that roughly a year ago Love reportedly praised Lana Del Rey for being a “musical genius.” In 2021, things were also seemingly all good between her and Taylor Swift. One report said she wished the Pennsylvania native a happy birthday and labeled her an “aspirational huge role model for many young women.”

As you can imagine, Love’s remarks have sparked a frenzy online. While some agreed with her harsh opinions, many others slammed her for coming for their favs. One person wrote,

“Y’all are not looking at this correctly: Courtney Love is the White woman’s Azealia Banks and married White people’s Jimi Hendrix, she is a Cancer and have you seen her crash Madonna’s VMA interview? Lol she is going to do what she wants to, 100 proof!”

Another person said,

“Courtney Love deciding to insult both Taylor and Beyonce recently is certainly a choice”
