Kourtney Kardashian Barker Opens Up About Fertility Journey: ‘I Stopped After A Year Of 5 Failed IVF Cycles’

Kourtney Kardashian Barker is getting real about her motherhood journey.

The Kardashians star shared insights into her experience with in vitro fertilization during an Instagram Q&A session with followers on Monday (May 27).

In response to a follower’s inquiry about her IVF journey, the 45-year-old reality star disclosed that she encountered obstacles, enduring five failed IVF attempts, three retrievals, and a year of trying:

“I stopped after a year of trying (5 failed IVF cycles, 3 retrievals) my body relaxed and I believed in God’s plan for my life. Lots of prayers for whatever was meant to be for us. Also lots of optimizing my health … Believing in God’s plan and saying your prayers is so powerful.”

Clarifying misconceptions about her last pregnancy, Kourtney Kardashian Barker later explained that she conceived her son, Rocky Thirteen, naturally, one year after discontinuing IVF treatments. She wrote on top of her showing off her then baby bump,

“I want to be super clear bc it seems my answer to the IVF question may have been confusing … I got pregnant 100 % naturally, NOT through IVF… one year after stopping IVF actually. Through God’s blessing, on Valentine’s Day.”

Kourtney Kardashian Barker and her husband, musician Travis Barker, welcomed Rocky Thirteen in November 2023 after Kourtney underwent urgent fetal surgery to save their unborn child’s life.

In addition to Rocky Thirteen, Travis Barker is a father to three children: daughter Alabama, 18, and son Landon, 20, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler. Meanwhile, Kardashian is a mother to sons Mason, 14, and Reign, 9, as well as daughter Penelope, 11, with her ex, Scott Disick.

The longtime friends turned couple got married in 2022. The moments leading up to their wedding were featured in a Hulu special titled Til Death Do Us Part. Kardashian and Barker subsequently announced their pregnancy with Rocky Thirteen at a Blink-182 concert in 2023.
