Tina Knowles Explains Moments She’s Accidentally Liked Negative Posts Online: ‘That’s What Happens To 70-Year-Olds On Social Media’
Fashion mogul Tina Knowles is opening up about her struggles to navigate social media.
The 70-year-old recently admitted that she’s fallen victim to liking things she shouldn’t have online, even about her famous kids.

Tina Knowles spoke about the matter during a recent podcast interview where she stated:
“You know how many times I’ve liked something that was negative about my own children? Because if I’m busy and I’m going through the thing, I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s Beyoncé and so and so. I like that.’ Then the fans come back and say, ‘Miss Tina, please erase that because you’re liking some negative post.'”

Continuing, Tina Knowles shared that her granddaughter Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of her eldest Beyoncé, and her husband Sean ‘Jay Z’ Carter, sometimes reprimand her when she does something the 12-year-old deems uncool. She added:
“Every once in a while, I get a call from blue and she’ll say, ‘grandma, that’s really wack, what you just did. That’s really wack. You should delete that. Really, you should delete that.'”

The Deréon founder claimed that she doesn’t typically take the pre-teen’s advice, stating that she has already moved on to something else. Knowles has certainly been caught up in her fair share of social media blunders. In January of this year, the celebrity mom made a video clarifying that she accidentally liked a post shading music icon Janet Jackson.

The aforementioned post shared several packages from Janet Jackson’s upcoming Together Again tour that promoted a “Gold Janet Jackson VIP Lounge Package” for $839.95 and an “Ultimate Janet Jackson Meet and Greet & VIP Lounge Package” for over $2,000. As a caption to the post, the commenter wrote:
“What a joke…You want Beyoncé prices, have real production. Just disgusted.”

After fans and loved ones made Knowles aware of the error, she took to Instagram explaining that she liked the post on accident after reading it while in a hurry, adding:
“I know better than anyone what a great production costs, and that it’s expensive…And I would never criticize another artist, let alone Janet Jackson, who is the queen of production.”

Knowles went on to add that she wrongly trusted that the people she follows wouldn’t be posting anything negative. She did, however, make it clear that’s not a mistake she’ll make again.
