50 Cent Receives Backlash After Making Light Of Michael Rainey Jr. Being Sexually Assaulted, Calls Incident ‘An Aggressive Advance’
Rapper 50 Cent is once again in the spotlight for his social media commentary, this time addressing Power actor Michael Rainey Jr., who was subject to sexual assault during a live stream appearance.
The 48-year-old television producer took to Instagram to dismiss the seriousness of the incident in a now-deleted post. He wrote,
“Wait sexual assault… from a male perspective this was an aggressive advance. LOL HE’s fine no charges are being pressed.”

After he seemingly downplayed the situation, social media erupted with discontent, as users accused 50 Cent of gaslighting and perpetuating toxic masculinity.
One X user wrote,
“50 Cent’s employee Michael Rainey Jr. was publicly sexually assaulted and 50’s response was to insult him, gaslight him and dismiss the situation. All during “Men’s mental health awareness month. Men don’t care about other men.”

Another X user commented,
“The amount of toxic masculinity exhibited by the men born in the 80’5, 70’s, 60’s, and before sickens me. Michael Rainey Jr. was assaulted on live in front for many people and teens. For 50 cent to call it “an aggressive advance” truly makes me want to vomit.”

Shortly after, 50 Cent appeared to backtrack on his statements… well, sort of.
He reinforced his stance by stating,
“I registered that as a form of flattery, I have accepted that from female fans my whole career.”
However, he sarcastically called for TyTy James’ sister to be held accountable, remarking,
“But ok your right guys put her in jail ! what ever floats your boat.”

As previously reported, actor Michael Rainey Jr., 23, found himself at the center of a troubling incident amid a Twitch live stream hosted by popular streamer TyTy James. During the stream, TyTy James’ sister appeared to sexually assault Rainey Jr., causing discomfort as she touched him inappropriately.

In a subsequent stream, TyTy James, 24, initially expressed frustration, stating,
“I’m trying to literally ignore this s***, but I’m getting texts, the energy shifted, and n***** got up and left. All that s*** really made me feel a way.”
However, TyTy James later issued a statement, apologizing to Michael Rainey Jr. and condemning his sister’s actions.

Michael Rainey Jr. also addressed the incident, emphasizing the seriousness of sexual assault.
