Lil Uzi Vert’s Rep Says ‘He Doesn’t Know’ Floyd Mayweather After They’re Both Named In Assault Lawsuit
Rapper Lil Uzi Vert says a recent lawsuit naming him as a defendant has him confused with someone else.
The musician denied having a relationship with boxing champion Floyd Mayweather after he was named in an assault lawsuit, along with the athlete’s The Money Team employees.
Reportedly, the complaint was filed in a New York court earlier today (Thursday, June 20th) by a man named Abdullah Ali. The plaintiff claims he was attacked by Lil Uzi Vert as well as several TMT employees back in June of last year. As his story goes, Abdullah Ali spotted one of Floyd Mayweather’s trailers near a hotel and walked closer to record the vehicle and get a better look.
After crossing the street, Abdullah Ali says he was stopped by a Rolls Royce that poured out several TMT employees, as well as Lil Uzi Vert. Allegedly, a verbal altercation occurred before things escalated into physical assault. The complaint says the alleged victim was punched and kicked for over a minute by at least “10 men,” and the attack resulted in a hospital trip and several lost teeth. Ali is suing for an unspecified amount in damages.
While it does not appear that anyone from Mayweather’s team has responded to the suit publicly at this time, Uzi’s camp is reportedly denying that he has any connection to the boxing icon. A rep for the “Just Wanna Rock” artist claims:
“Lil Uzi Vert doesn’t know Floyd Mayweather or have any form of affiliation with Mayweather’s Money Team, and was not at the site of the alleged incident.”
It’s unclear if Mayweather was present during the incident at this time.
