‘Baddies’ Star Meatball Speaks Out After Receiving 5 Years Probation From Looting Incident: ‘I’m Relieved’

Meatball has spoken out following her sentencing to five years of probation for her involvement in a 2023 looting incident.

Dayjia Blackwell, known as Meatball from the reality show Baddies, has been sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to rioting and criminal use of a communication facility in connection with a 2023 looting incident in Philadelphia.

Alongside probation, Meatball must complete 150 hours of community service through Philadelphia’s Community Life Improvement Program and pay a $10,000 fine.

On social media, Meatball responded to her sentencing with mixed sentiments.

In one post, she criticized the outcome, stating,

“5 years on probation a set up but it [could’ve] went left luckily my judge was [fair] respectfully. I’m show yall how to walk this off. I gotta do what I gotta do and my goal is to stay booked and busy.”

Booked and busy she’s been, posting numerous sponsored posts on Instagram since the incident, showcasing her growing popularity as an influencer.

In a separate post, she expressed relief, saying,

“I’m really relieved to move on from this. I’ve had so much time to reflect on how I used my platform that night. Honestly, I didn’t think I was hurting anyone, and I never meant to make people come outside. But now I realize that what people saw on my live videos actually motivated more people to come out, even if they were just coming out to watch and have a good laugh like me. I really hope my experience serves as a valuable lesson for other influencers to use their platforms for good. Having influence comes with a great deal of responsibility.”

Last fall, Meatball gained notoriety for live-streaming herself participating in looting during civil unrest in Philadelphia. This occurred amidst controversy following a judge’s decision to drop all charges against former Police Officer Mark Dial, who had been facing criminal prosecution for fatally shooting driver Eddie Irizarry during a traffic stop.

She faced charges of burglary, conspiracy, riot, and criminal use of a communication facility, now reduced under a plea deal.

Since the livestream and the legal consequences that followed, Meatball has capitalized on her expanding platform by launching a clothing line, managing an OnlyFans page, and currently starring in Baddies, a reality show airing on Zeus.
