Celebrity Chef Justin Sutherland ‘Vehemently’ Denies Allegations He Choked His Girlfriend & Hit Her w/ A Gun

TV host Justin Sutherland is proclaiming his innocence.

A rep for the celebrity chef denied accusations of domestic violence made against him recently after he was arrested and charged over the weekend.

In response to Justin Sutherland’s arrest on Friday (June 28th), the entertainer’s lawyer stated:

“Mr. Sutherland vehemently denies all the allegations in the complaint…He never threatened to shoot anyone. He did not physically assault his girlfriend. He looks forward to the truth coming out as the court process unfolds.”

Additionally, the attorney suggested that the unnamed woman’s complaint “riddled with falsehoods” stemmed from the “relationship coming to an end.” In case you missed it, “Top Chef” contestant and “The Iron Chef” winner Justin Sutherland, 39, was detained by Minnesota police after his girlfriend, 24, accused him of hitting her with a gun and squeezing her neck.

According to the woman, the incident took place after the couple argued about “something stupid,” and escalated into a physical situation as Sutherland was allegedly attempting to force her out of their shared apartment. She claimed that the host of True TV’s “Fast Foodies” pointed a gun at her and hit her in the chest with it, saying,
“Don’t come back here or I am going to shoot you.”
The woman also claimed that Sutherland put his hands around her neck and squeezed for approximately five to six seconds while threatening:
 “I could kill you,”
She noted in the complaint that she contacted police an hour or so before the incident turned physical, but claimed she lied insisting she wasn’t in danger “because she did not want to get anyone in trouble.” Though unconfirmed as the alleged victim, Sutherland has most recently romantically been linked to model Serena Lange.

Sutherland has reportedly been charged with one count of felony threats of violence – reckless disregard risk. It does not appear that he’s commented on the matter publicly at this time.
