Update: Billy Ray Cyrus & Firerose Finalize Heated Divorce Following 7 Month-Long ‘Nightmare’ Marriage

Update: (Aug. 6, 2024): The crazy divorce drama between Billy Ray Cyrus and Australian country singer Firerose has ended.

As previously reported, the ex-couple married in October 2023, and after just 7 months of marriage, Billy Ray, 62, filed for divorce. He cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as the reasons for the split. The “Achy Breaky Heart” artist also requested an annulment on the grounds of fraud and later claimed Firerose was abusive.

However, Firerose, 36, claimed her ex was the abusive one throughout their relationship, and even reportedly leaked audio of him verbally attacking her.

Despite their differences, Billy Ray’s attorneys confirmed they reached a divorce settlement on August 2. A statement from the legal professionals said,

“This past Friday the parties reached a settlement agreement at mediation to dissolve their 7-month marriage, and the Court declared the parties divorced this morning. Mr. Cyrus is relieved to put this nightmare behind him.”

They also noted that “a couple of weeks ago, prior to mediation, [Firerose] legally changed her last name from ‘Hodges’ to ‘Cyrus.’” Reportedly, Billy Ray feels this “validates his assertion that his ex-wife’s sole impetus for marrying him was to obtain his last name.”

However, a source close to Firerose shared with PEOPLE, that the name change was already in motion.

“This was not something she just did last week, especially following the ongoing smear campaign by his team.”

They added that Firerose walked “away without fighting for money in order to be done with the volatile relationship and anything having to do with Billy.”

Original Story: (June 11, 2024): Country singer/actor Billy Ray Cyrus is ready to be a single man once again.

The 62-year-old entertainer has filed for divorce from his wife Firerose, real name Johanna Rose Hodges, 37, after just 7 months of marriage. According to reports, court documents show that Billy Ray Cyrus actually filed the legal paperwork last month in Nashville on May 22. Similar to most celebs, he cited irreconcilable differences as one of the reasons for the split. However, he also listed “inappropriate marital conduct” as a cause of the breakup.

In addition, the “Old Town Road -Remix” artist is seeking an annulment, claiming that their marriage was obtained by fraud. Per a TMZ report, Billy Ray Cyrus gave his soon-to-be ex-wife two days after he filed (until May 24) to leave his home. Cyrus did, however, pay $500 a night over ten days to help Firerose find temporary housing, according to the report. It’s also said that he has agreed to fork over $5,000 per month for Firerose to obtain a permanent home in Tennessee. The payments will reportedly continue for the next 3 months or until the divorce is finalized, whichever comes first.

The former love birds started dating in 2022 and married in October 2023. They share no children, however, as you may already know, Cyrus does have children from previous relationships. This split marks divorce number three for the Hannah Montana star.
