Terry Crews Reveals Wife Rebecca Has Suffered 3 Miscarriages: ‘We Know What It’s Like To Lose A Child’

Actor Terry Crews is opening up about a tragic experience.

On Wednesday (Sep. 11), during the America’s Got Talent Semi Finals, Terry Crews chatted with PEOPLE about contestants’ Sky Elements’ drone light show which displayed an emotional story of a parent losing a child. The performance was paired with the song “Butterfly” by Lily Meola

Speaking on how he can relate to what it’s like to face such a tragedy, Terry Crews revealed,

“Me and my wife [ Rebecca King-Crews], we know what it’s like to lose a child. We’ve had three miscarriages. It’s one of those things where it was so meaningful and special because the dedication is just, it’s a way to process these things.”

The Everybody Hates Chris star continued,

“We balanced out everything. We had the laughs, we had the dedications, we had the fun, we had the dancing. It was just all over the place and it was perfect.”

Terry Crews and Rebecca King-Crews share five children ranging between the ages of 19 and 37. The love birds jumped the broom in 1989 and have stood by each other’s side ever since. As previously reported, earlier this year Terry came forward to defend his wife against naysayers who claimed she wasn’t Black. During a discussion with NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, he candidly expressed,

“She’s Black, yes, Black momma, White daddy, and been raised like that, but again, just ’cause she don’t have that kind of look, her momma is Black.”

He later continued,

“This is what I admire about her. It never bothered her. She was like, ‘I love Black people, and even if some feel that I’m White, I understand it.’”

And added,

“That’s the way I had to start thinking because I would always get angry. But to watch her, the way she dealt with things peacefully, like ‘I’m not gonna go there. You know what? That’s trauma that they had to deal with, and I understand it. But I love them anyway.’”
