WNBA Player Caitlin Clark Receives An Influx Of Hate Comments After Liking Taylor Swift’s IG Post Endorsing Kamala Harris
A simple Instagram like has several Republicans mad at Caitlin Clark.
Following the presidential debate that took place earlier this week, Taylor Swift shared with her 284 million Instagram followers that she will be voting for Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. To date, over 10 million people have liked the post, including Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark. Even though the comments on Taylor Swift’s page are disabled — and reportedly have been for years — the public is still able to see who likes her posts, which has Donald Trump supporters in an uproar. Slamming Caitlin Clark for engaging with Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris, one person wrote under the athlete’s latest picture,
“I noticed you liked Taylor Swift’s endorsement post of Kamaliar and Tampon Tim. I figured you were more based and aware. Bummer.”

Unfortunately, the remark wasn’t a one-off, as Clark’s page has received an influx of hate comments over the like. Another person not happy with her said,
“Just play basketball and build your brand. A brand that the entire country can love. Stay out of politics, your brand will suffer. You are young…ask your close friends and family for advice….”

Sharing similar sentiments, more hateful comments from Donald Trump supporters told Clark they were no longer going to watch the WNBA. One person even left a remark to the 22-year-old that said she was a bad Christian for seemingly backing Kamala Harris.

Clark has yet to address the crazy comments, but she did speak on her choice to engage with Swift’s post on Wednesday (Sep.) 11, telling reporters,
“I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be to just encourage people to register to vote. That’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have and that’s the same thing Taylor (Swift) did.”
Clark didn’t officially endorse Kamala Harris while speaking with the press, but she did add,
“Continue to educate yourself on the candidates that we have, the policies that they’re supporting – I think that’s the biggest thing you can do. And that’s what I would recommend to every single person that has the opportunity in our country.”
