Mary J. Blige Reveals She’s Found New Love & Opens Up About Forgiveness Following Bitter Divorce
Mary J. Blige is embracing forgiveness and moving forward with her life.
During a recent appearance on Sherri, the 53-year-old R&B legend reflected on the lessons she learned from her public divorce from ex-husband Kendu Isaacs, stressing that forgiveness was key to her healing.
She stated,
“What I learned is that forgiveness was for me. To hell with them. I don’t like that ugly, bitter feeling—that’s not mine, that belongs to you. You did what you did, but I have to move on. In order for me to feel good and manifest all the good things in my life, I have to let you go… for me.”

Mary J. Blige’s 13-year marriage to Kendu Isaacs, which began in December 2003, ended in a bitter split in 2016. Blige cited irreconcilable differences, with claims of infidelity and financial mismanagement. Their divorce, finalized in 2018, involved a public legal battle over spousal support.
When asked if she’s currently walking in joy with someone special, Blige confirmed that there’s a new love in her life, saying,
“It’s going well because I’m doing well for myself. I feel good about me. I look good to me. I’m embracing me. When you embrace you, everything is embracing you. It’s going well because I’m not holding anyone accountable for making me feel good about me.”
Blige, who has been through personal and professional highs and lows, also touched on the idea of retirement. Though she admitted feeling tired at times, she quickly added,
“Probably not yet.”
Fans of the iconic singer have something to look forward to as well. Blige announced her upcoming For My Fans Tour, featuring Ne-Yo and Mario, set to kick off in January 2025. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, she wrote,
“When it’s all said and done, it’s never all said and done, I owe my fans a gratitude I can’t put into words, so I put it into a show. The For My Fans Tour coming soon, see you there.”

It seems Blige is thriving both personally and professionally as she prepares for her upcoming tour and the release of her new album, Gratitude, this November.
