Ariana Grande’s Boyfriend Ethan Slater Says Public Criticism On Their Relationship Was ‘Really Hard’
Pop star Ariana Grande’s new man is speaking up about the difficulties they faced at the beginning of their relationship.
Ethan Slater, 32, discussed the matter during a recent interview with GQ, stating:
“I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public.”
He added:
“There were a lot of big changes in private lives that were really happening, so it’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating, and then getting things wrong about the people you love. So just to address that part of it, that feels really hard.”

If you recall, Grande, 31, went public with Slater while the two were wrapping up filming for their upcoming ‘Wicked’ film.
As far as the public knew at the time, the songstress was freshly separated from her then-husband Dalton Gomez, while Slater was expecting a child with his then-wife Lilly Jay.

Due to the timing of the couple going public, however, many speculated that they were cheating on their spouses, resulting in their respective marriages coming to an end.
Jay fueled suspicions further after appearing on a podcast where she claimed Grande wasn’t “a girl’s girl” and accused the “7 Rings” singer of stealing her man and breaking up a family.
Sources later claimed that while Jay was in the right to be upset about her marriage ending, Grande and Slater didn’t spark a romance until two months after she and Slater separated.
