Oop! Bernie Sanders Calls Out Democratic Party After Donald Trump’s Win
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders slammed the Democratic Party’s “disastrous” campaign following Vice President Kamala Harris’s loss to former President Donald Trump.
He criticized the party for abandoning the working class, saying,
“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.”
He noted the erosion of support from Latino and Black workers, adding,
“While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.”
Sanders also condemned U.S. military aid to Israel, stating,
“We continue to spend billions funding the extremist Netanyahu government’s all-out war against the Palestinian people.”
He questioned whether the Democratic Party would learn from its failures, asking,
“Will the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party learn any real lessons from this disastrous campaign?”
After the election, Kamala Harris conceded, stating,
“While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign,” emphasizing her commitment to fighting for freedom, opportunity, and fairness.”
