Donald Trump Vows To End Birthright Citizenship As Part Of His Revamped Immigration Policy
President Donald Trump plans to sign 10 immigration-related executive orders, including one to end birthright citizenship for children born to undocumented immigrants, an administration official said. The move would reinterpret the 14th Amendment and face immediate legal challenges.
Other orders include restarting border wall construction, deploying troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, ramping up deportations, and reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy. Donald Trump also seeks to designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and suspend refugee resettlement.
The administration plans to halt asylum claims and increase collaboration with state and local authorities for detentions. Critics argue these measures defy federal law and international treaties, while supporters view them as fulfilling Donald Trump’s immigration promises.
