L.A. 2028 Olympics To Include New Mixed-Gender Team Events In Golf, Track, & Gymnastics
The Olympics are making big changes for L.A. 2028.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that men and women will compete together in more team events, including golf, track, and gymnastics. IOC sports director Kit McConnell said,
“The mixed events are a real true embodiment of gender equality — men and women competing in the same team, on the same field of play for their country.”

While mixed-gender events are rare in these particular sports, they’re not entirely new. The success of events like the 4×400 relay has shown how well such competitions can work at the Olympics.
