UPDATE: Diddy Confirms He Rejected Plea Deal Ahead Of S*x Crimes Trial
Update (May 1, 2025): Diddy made it clear in court Thursday that he is not interested in a plea deal.
The Bad Boy mogul appeared in a Manhattan courtroom wearing a tan jail jumpsuit, looking noticeably thinner, yet upbeat. Sitting between attorneys Teny Geragos and Brian Steel, Diddy smiled and chatted, seemingly unfazed by the looming trial.
When asked by the judge if he rejected the written plea offer from federal prosecutors, Diddy responded, “Yes, I did.”
He confirmed he understood the risk of serving more time if convicted but chose to go to trial regardless.
Prosecutors typically offer deals close to expected sentences to prevent appeal issues, but Diddy’s refusal may later serve as a defense argument. Jury selection begins Monday, May 5, at 8 AM, with a three-day goal.
Diddy faces five charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. The judge has approved business attire for trial. This case is heating up fast.
Should Diddy have taken the deal?
Original Story (April 25, 2025): A deal was on the table for Diddy, but he walked away from the offer.
Prosecutor Madison Smyser revealed during a court hearing today (April 25) that Diddy was offered a plea deal in his federal racketeering and sex trafficking case, but he turned it down. At this time, details surrounding the plea are limited. As reported, Diddy’s charges include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

During the hearing, the judge also denied the request from Diddy’s legal team to keep the video of him brutally assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, from being presented as evidence during the trial. Diddy was arrested on 16 September 2024 and is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. His trial is set to start on 5 May.
