Ciara is opening up about her iconic run-in with Rihanna at the Met Gala yesterday (May 5)!

During a newly aired appearance on Sherri, Ciara, 39, revealed she had a heartfelt moment with Rihanna, bonding over motherhood and major life updates.

Ciara congratulated Rihanna, 37, on being pregnant with her third child with longtime partner A$AP Rocky. The couple kept the pregnancy under wraps, with Rihanna debuting her baby bump on the Met Gala carpet in true fashion icon style.

Ciara also shared that Rihanna previously reached out to her via DM to show love and celebrate Ciara’s success. In turn, Ciara likewise gave Rihanna her flowers.

The sweet exchange shows the major growth in their relationship, especially considering the feud they had over a decade ago. If you remember, the two artists exchanged some serious shade online in 2011, after Ciara commented on Rihanna’s attitude during an interview. Rihanna fired back with a scathing post, telling Ciara, “good luck” with booking performances.

Fast forward to 2025, and it’s all love and mutual respect between the queens.  We love to see the growth, the grace, and the girl power!
